Alluding to the number of different patrons to whom Dryden dedicated his translations of Virgil. The Eclogues were dedicated to Lord Clifford: the Georgics to the Earl of Chesterfield : and the Aeneid to the Marquis of Normanby, afterwards Duke of Buckingham.
